Diamonds Are Forever: 3rd Impression
Jonathan Cape. 1959 (257 pages): VERY FINE, AS-NEW condition. Brand new looking. Quite exquisite. Sensational. Quite simply, this has to be the finest example of this book in existence today. Looks as new as it did when it was first produced. Brilliant un-aged paper, with correct thrid impression DJ that almost looks like a reproduction it is so fine. One of just 3,034 printed. Features the distinctive 2mm white band along the entire top width of the jacket, that bibliographer Gilbert notes was caused by 'the printer as the finished sheet was poorly positioned when the excess margin was trimmed' (p133). An intriguing book this. Says 'Third Impression 1959' on the copyright page, but this is an error. Although the sheets were printed in 1959, the 3rd impressions of this title were not actually bound and made available for sale until 1960.
