Jonathan Cape 1960 (252 pages): A SUPER condition example of this very rare book which had a first impression print run of just 21,700 (some 3,000 less than the preceding year's Goldfinger). This near-fine condition book is housed in  a superior UN-CLIPPED first state dust-jacket (confirmed as such with the seven reviews of Goldfinger to the front flap). Of particular note to collectors is its still-strong deep orange colour to the title lettering along the spine. (So often this book is found with significant sunlight-impacted fading that turns the letters to yellow).  This distinctive jacket - the only one to have a shiny finish - has none of the usual chipping and rubbing that is also typically found. Absolutely no internal marks of any sort; no inscriptions or annotations or foxing/spotting. All pages are white and clean and in as-new condition. Bright gilding to tight, square boards. Text block features just minimal sunning. A fantastic copy of this very low print-run book in a rarely-found vivid jacket and strong colours.
