You Only Live Twice - 1st/1st & 1st state binding (no March 1964 date)
Jonathan Cape 1964 (256 pages): FINE condition, first impression, first edition and first state with the first published date showing '1964' and nothing else (ie not the 'March 1964' of the second state book). Amazingly clean and non-sun-damaged (a fate typical of this particular novel), this non-priced clipped example is second-to-none. Note the rarely-found delicate hues of the pink peony flower still being intact. Note also the virtual absence of any spine fade (another common defect afflicting this particular novel) . Coupled with its totally clean text block and completely clean and unblemished internal pages, this is an example that is seldom found in such good condition. Faint tape marks to endpapers, no other internal blemishes. This is a truly stunning example of a book that so commonly gets very grubby-looking.
