You Only Live Twice: 1st impression/1st state

Jonathan Cape 1966 (256 pages): An exemplary example of this hard-to-fine book. Jacket presents in VERY FINE condition: unclipped jacket in clean and unfaded condition, with the delicate pink peony flower retaining softness but also vibancy. (Note: Most copies of this book have terribly sun-browned jackets). This is the first state of the first impression (as denoted by copyright page showing 'First Published 1964' (rather than the later, second state 'March 1964'). Small mark to front board, otherwise a superior example that is tight, sharp and square. Bamboo-patterned endpapers show none of the usual 'ghost' marks left by the jacket pressed against it. Completely mark-free internal pages - all bright and white with no spotting/foxing or any other blemishes. Creamy-white page blook all round. A superb example of a title typically found in poor condion.
