Casino Royale: First edition 7th impression - 1962
Jonathan Cape. 1962 (218 pages): Fine-condition book in good-to-very good jacket. Internally this book is in exceptional condition - with bright red lettering and 'heart' image to the boards. Straight, tight, square and with a beautifully white page block, this is everything you would hope a book to be. Features inner pages, no annotations, no marks, no spotting/foxing. Unusually, this is NOT an ex-library book - further enhancing its collectibility (many later prints went straight into the library system). Comes with a clean, bright, non spine-faded jacket; minor rubbing to top to the spine and to a lesser extent at the bottom. Small diagonal crease to lower back panel, otherwise very good (normally the green of this jacket is susceptible to fading into a light green). This edition's production spanned 1962-63, so those bound after 1st January 1963 were overprinted with a price rise to 16s (as is with this example) - up from 15s. One of just 2,991 copies of this edition printed.
