Diamonds Are Forever: 1st US paperback print M 3084 (Perma) 1957

A NEAR-FINE copy of this rare first paperback printing (1957) of Diamonds Are Forever by Perma Books (US). The Perma edition was the first time this novel appeared in paperback (anywhere), and predates the first UK Pan paperback edition by a full year. There was just this one print run made owing to the fact lan Fleming later changed his US paperback publisher to Signet due to Perma re-titling his previous novel, "Moonraker" to "Too Hot to Handle". This copy features the superb cover art of William Rose and in very good condition. It has just slight wear to the spine. Wrappers are bright and clean, and this is extremely tightly-bound, with crisp-cut-square pages. No internal inscriptions, annotation, marks or any other blemishes. Bright, inner pages, unusual to find. A very difficult book to find in this very good condition.
