For Your Eyes Only - First edition, First Impression (1960) - RED Spine

Jonathan Cape, 1960 (252 pages): NEAR-FINE  condition book with a near-fine (red lettering to spine) jacket. A superb example of this difficult-to-find title - featuring lettering on the dust jacket that is rarely-found with the same deep red as on the face of the jacket. [So often this book features a jacket with lettering that has turned to orange or even yellow]. For Your Eyes Only is a Fleming book with an already low print run to begin with (21,700 - much less than the previous year's Goldfinger (20,000), so surviving copies are already scarce. This copy is all the scarcer still, featuring its non-faded DJ spine. Jacket has some small nicks to the fold of the top of the spine,  a few small marks, plus some 'scratching' to the lettering on the spine' otherwise a very good jacket indeed. Price-clipped. Book is in good condition - square, and clean, with minor split to the cloth at the very top. Internally clean, featuring bright, white pages bereft of inscriptions/blemishes. A very handsome example of a title where the vast majority of surviving copies are damaged through sun exposure.
