Live & Let Die: 1st edition/2nd Impression (jacketless)

Jonathan Cape, 1954 (240 pages): FIne condition. The second impression of Ian's Fleming's second novel was instructed on 20th April - just two weeks after the book was first published on 4th April. There were still only a modest number though - just 2,092 copies were bound (Gilbert). This example features superb condition original black cloth-effect boards, with still very bright gilt-embossed coin motif to upper cover and gilt lettering to spine. Boards are square and tight; no lean. Page block with only the palest of tanning. Internal pages are beuatifully white, bright, crisp and clean. No inscriptions, markings or foxing/spotting of any sort. A phenomenally good example of this numerically scare book.
