Moonraker - First edition 2nd Impression - 1955
Jonathan Cape 1955 (256 pages): Fine Jacketless second impression. This is officially the most scarce of any Cape Ian Fleming hardback, with a print-run of only 929 copies (with correctly spelled 'shoot' to p10). Survival rates today must be considered exceptionally small. This is an exceptionally well-presenting book - with as-new bright, white inner pages, and an amazing bright white page block, with no sunning at all. Just a few very light traces of spotting to the front and back end papers, and barely noticeable (much more evident in the photos), feint white marks to the front and back of the boards. Discrete former owner's name only. Elsewhere absolutely no internal blemishes or marks. A truly exceptional example of the rarest Bond hardback.
