The Spy Who Loved Me- First edition, first impression 1962

Jonathan Cape 1962 (221 pages): FINE condition book and jacket. A truly exquisite example of this numerically scare first edition (print-run just 29,738), which is also the most experimental of the 14 books - written as it is from the perspective of female heroine, Vivienne Michel. Features a simply stunning non-price clipped dust jacket without any bumps, tears, rubbing or signs of soiling at all. The book's back panel is particularly white/spotless. The DJ shows NO spine fade whatsoever - meaning the wood-grain illustration without any of the 'fuzziness/blur' that other sun-exposed copies tend to show. Lack of sunning makes this is a real rarity. The book itself is in equally superb condition - with crisp, clean, square boards, and a page block (a good indicator of a book's overall condition), that presents in beautiful bleach-white condition. All the inner pages are white, and clean and bright, and as new-looking as the day it was printed. A must-see book. A discrete owner's sticker and name to the front end papers shows previous owner. Examples are extremely hard to find in this superb condition. The print run of this book was a little more than half of the previous year's Thunderball, making this title somewhat of a rarity to find (and find in good condition), despite it being the 10th book in the 14-book series. A magnificent copy, in unusually crisp, fresh, and bright condition.
