Jonathan Cape 1962 (221 pages): NEAR FINE condition book and jacket. Featuring un-price clipped, original first state jacket with bright, vivid colours and NO spine fade. Save for a couple of very small ink spots and tiny closed tear to face of DJ this is a very clean jacket indeed: bright and clean. This has completely unmarked internal pages, with no staining, foxing, writing, annotations, folds or inscriptions of any kind. Boards clean and square. None of the usual page block browning - creamy and white. A fabulous example of a very low print-run 1st impression book [This book bucks the trend for successively larger print runs. The 1st impression print run was just 30,000 - or just over half that of the previous year's Thunderball]. Examples are now very hard to find in this very good condition.
